Design Research Magazine: Fumi Sasada Interview

Design Research Vol. 1 featured an interview with Fumi Sasada, president and CEO of Bravis International.

Design Research is a Japanese magazine that looks at the relationship between marketing and design from a variety of angles. The theme of Volume 1 was 'Design You Want to Reach Out and Pick Up'--hence the focus on package design, Bravis' specialty.

The function and importance of package design, the current state and outlook of the field, and the elements key to the creation of effective packaging were just some of the topics Sasada touched upon. In his role as director of the Japan Package Design Association (JPDA), he discussed the Association's activities, in particular its interest in issues like the environment and universal design. The interview also included Sasada's thoughts on global design, with examples drawn from large cross-border projects at Bravis.

A section called 'Evolving Package Design' showcased 'Pocca Original Coffee,' Bravis first-ever design project, and Meiji Bulgaria Yoghurt, a long-seller whose package Bravis has been modifying and updating over 14 years.
