The beer business can sometimes look like a zero sum game, but Kirin was able to enjoy the taste of total victory with Hyouketsu (‘Ice crystal’), a canned alcoholic drink made from shochu, soda water and fruit juice. Hyouketsu debuted in July 2001, and the unique packaging, with a bold silver and blue pattern on a unique ‘diamond cut’ can, helped make it a runaway hit.

Bravis’design was awarded a special prize from the Japan Packaging Design Association in 2003.
