Naming is one of the key starting points of any brand strategy. Individual products and services, not to mention business units and corporations themselves all require good names that match their different strategic goals. In turn, these names feed into design development. Effective names can only be created based on proper understanding of the strategy.
Bravis manages the flow of projects so that everything from the core strategy to name creation and design interlink consistently. This means that, with the passage of time, the names we create mature into high value-added intellectual property.
Before establishing naming directions, Bravis always goes through a preliminary stage in order to get a firm grasp on key background issues such as the brand positioning, and analysis of the market and target customer. At the next stage, we establish name categories on which name-generation is based, as well as establishing other development criteria for image and function. Our copywriting team then creates a pool of candidate names. All the names in this pool are then measured against the evaluation criteria. A basic legal check is also conducted to filter out any names identical to pre-existing ones, while the names are also submitted to native speakers of major languages to eliminate those with negative meanings. Once the names have gone through this screening process, we present the best of them to the client in the naming presentation.
