Mizkan Group

Dashiemon is a highly authentic, slightly thick dashi-shoyu (dashi-enhanced, flavored soy sauce) targeted at consumers who are fussy about their seasoning. Mizkan developed two varieties, one containing black vinegar, one dried shaved bonito flakes. They both go especially well with tofu, natto, sashimi and boiled vegetables.

Bravis placed the word 'dashi' in large characters inside the traditional hexagonal soy sauce mark to get the message right out to consumers in the shop that this was a new product that can be eaten with nato and with cold tofu. The background pattern is designed to evoke the texture of traditional Japanese washi paper while the flavor icon recalls the traditional techniques of Japanese kiri-e art, together suggesting this sauce is the perfect accompaniment to a traditional Japanese meal.
