PROJECT

“Gong Cha,” famous for its tapioca drinks, and Kirin Beverage have launched “Gong Cha Brown Sugar Oolong Milk Tea” and “Gong Cha Alishan Oolong Peach Tea Ade”—the first bottled beverages under the Gong Cha brand—with the aim of further fostering tea culture in Japan. The products generated such a buzz that total sales exceeded approximately 5.7 million bottles within the first week of release. These products, which have been flying off the shelves—with many stores selling out—feature packaging designed by Bravis. Bravis also handled the packaging design for the revamped “Gongcha Brown Sugar Oolong Milk Tea,” the newly launched “Gongcha Alishan Oolong Mango Tea Ade,” and the seasonal limited-edition products “Gongcha Strawberry Japanese Black Tea Milk Tea” and “Gongcha Jasmine Milk Tea.”

Gong Cha, a brand born in Taiwan that now operates over 2,000 stores worldwide, has teamed up with Kirin Beverage, which has cultivated tea-blending expertise over many years through products like “Kirin Afternoon Tea” and “Kirin Nama-cha.” Together, these two companies have created a product that lets you easily enjoy the delicious flavors popular at Gong Cha stores.
Based on this concept, the package design boldly places the Gong Cha logo at the center. Furthermore, illustrations of tea leaves and a “sizzle shot” of a cup bearing the Gong Cha logo—just like those served in stores—convey the brand’s identity and a sense of authenticity. The redesigned packaging ensures a sense of quality by incorporating a delicate illustration of tea leaves at the top. Additionally, by using a shared white background for both flavors to create a unified visual, the design stands out on store shelves. Combining an intuitive sense of deliciousness with the convenience typical of PET bottle beverages, the product has become one that many people are eager to pick up.
